Chart-obsessed gamer spends over $500K to reach level 5,960 on Steam

WTF?! Not everyone cares about what Steam level they are on. But the ones who do can spend as much as it takes to buy a house to reach the top spot. This is apparent from a new player who has claimed the throne. Say hello to “stasik,” the latest user to reach the highest Steam level by seemingly burning through over half a million dollars.

As revealed by SteamDB, stasik has now surpassed the previous numero uno St4ck by skyrocketing all the way up to level 5,960 on Valve’s gaming platform. To put that accomplishment into perspective, St4ck was sitting pretty at a still impressively high level 4,972 before being dethroned.

YouTuber ohnePixel has crunched the numbers to estimate how much it took stasik to achieve such a ridiculously high Steam level. The going estimates are that he likely dropped anywhere from $500,000 up to $700,000. Let that figure sink in for a moment; over half a million dollars to increase some arbitrary number on their profile. That figure’s probably even higher by now, considering these estimates were calculated back when stasik was at level 5,101.

Of course, it’s not just about the level number itself. A lot of stasik’s virtual net worth is tied up in his massive inventory of rare CS:GO weapon skins and other valuable digital goods. Many individual items in his stockpile are valued at thousands of dollars apiece.

One of these is a nearly $9,000 factory new M4A1 Howl skin with a racial slur prominently displayed that could risk getting him permanently banned. But it’s not like he cares – the profile already boasts a bunch of game bans alongside offensive imagery made from arranged stickers. There’s also a reference link to a “Discord kitten,” who presumably is his partner.

Besides the obvious motivation to “flex” on other gamers, speculation is swirling that stasik’s over-the-top level push may have also been motivated by beef with another high-level user known as MoneyLead. An alleged former friend claims stasik wanted to show how easy it was to blow past MoneyLead’s level if money was no object.

Regardless of the reasoning, stasik’s account sure makes a statement: he’s filthy rich and has zero concerns about offending people.

Not much is actually known about this overachiever besides his location, which has been listed as the United Arab Emirates – despite his persistent use of Russian language everywhere.

With so many high-net-worth individuals immigrating to the UAE, it wouldn’t be surprising if the use of Russian is simply a remnant of his origins before relocating with a vast fortune to splurge on hobbies.
